Linda Jordan is a Certified Advanced Rolfer® who has practiced in Anchorage since completing her basic training at the Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration in 1982. Raised in Canada, she initially worked in atmospheric science until her own sessions of Rolfing® led her into the study of Rolfing itself and a complete career change.

She completed her advanced level Rolfing training in 1987 and continues to study and broaden her knowledge. In addition to continuing education in Rolfing, she has also studied:

  • Craniosacral Therapy – techniques as pioneered by Dr. Upledger.
  • Strain-Counterstrain – an extremely gentle technique, also known as positional release.  It addresses specific trigger points/acute muscular pain and spasms created by old injuries or bad habits. By placing the client’s body in a comfortable and completely pain-free position of rest, it allows the muscles to ‘reset’ to normal so healing can then take place.
  • Muscle Energy – eases chronic muscle tension causing joint stiffness; effective for restricted joints and spastic muscles, especially when a particular posture or position aggravates the symptoms. Improves range of motion.
  • Visceral Manipulation – a gentle, almost delicate hands-on therapy to relieve any abnormal points of tension around internal organs that are referring strain or discomfort elsewhere.
  • Spinal Biomechanics and many other related manual and movement therapies including those specific to particular body parts such as the lower back, shoulder, hands/wrists, head/neck, knees.

She has a very thorough and technically precise approach to Rolfing and listens closely to how you think your body needs to change and just how it feels to you. That combination lets her tailor each session specifically to your individual situation so you get the best and fastest possible results.
